During the second half of 2008, many of those involved in education and training came together to explore the relevance of the Dyfi Biosphere to their work.
A workshop for education & training providers was held on 2nd October 2008 at Plas Dolguog, Machynlleth. The Report ("Sharing the message of the Dyfi Biosphere") identified widespread support for creating an educators' network.
A second meeting was held on 9th December 2008. The Report (“Defining and delivering the message of the Dyfi Biosphere”) identified three new action groups who have agreed to take forward three distinct work streams, to enhance the provision of formal and informal education and training within the Dyfi Biosphere area:
1. Enhance the formal education offer
2. Develop an integrated interpretation plan for the Dyfi Biosphere
3. Develop school / farm links, for regular visits & “hands on”, experiential learning in the outdoor classroom
